History Of Amer Fort In Jaipur

The Amer Fort ranks among the popular tourist attractions in Jaipur. It is also known as Amber Fort and is a fine example of the medieval Rajput style of architecture. The Amer Fort was started in the year 1592 by Raja Man Singh I of the Kachwaha dynasty. It was ultimately completed by Raja Jai Singh. Again it was refurbished by Sawai Raja Jai Singh. The first Rajput structure took place during the reign of Raja Kakil Dev when Amber became his capital. The main buildings were expanded by Raja Man Singh I in the 1600s. Other buildings were built by subsequent kings during different dynasties.
