The Underwater World Pattaya aquarium showcasing over 200 different species of marine animals offering a great variety of both educational and recreational activities. At this wonderful seaside resort, guests take a journey to the bottom of the sea. After starting at the sandy beaches and shallow rock pools, they go deeper and deeper visiting bright corals and many kinds of exotic members of ocean flora and fauna. At the end, they go through a great, hundred meters long tunnel where walls have huge windows that allow observing many things from prowling predators and their prey to big shoals of fish that live deep down in the ocean. Apart from the showing guests the brilliant and diverse life under the sea, Underwater World also supports education and conservation of marine life which is the pretty important role, if you ask us! School visits are, of course, more than encouraged.

It all started when certain Mr. Pisit and Mrs. NongnoochTansacha bought 1500 rai (roughly 600 acres) of valleys and hills between Pattaya-Sattahip. Originally, the newly bought land was supposed to become a plantation for growing coconuts, mangoes and oranges as well as many other fruits that are local to this place. Mrs. Nongnooch liked to travel abroad and on her trips, she got inspired by the beauty of world famous gardens and decided to make a tropical garden of her own, with many ornamental flowers and plants, out of their fruit orchard. Later, the garden became a great tourist attraction offering everything from a comfortable accommodation, a swimming pool, restaurants and conference halls for seminars, banquets and many others.
The Nongnooch Garden became available to public entrance sometime in 1980. Together with the garden, a daily Thai cultural show was added, sometimes even doing an elephant show in the theater. Jumping forward to current day, the garden is one of the most popular attractions in whole Thailand. It also became famous and botanically significant under the premise “a garden for all people in the world”
Currently, Nongnooch Garden is one of the greatly popular tourist attraction, spreading over an area of 1700 ray, bringing happiness to visitors from all around the globe. Visitor count usually goes as high as 5000 people each day which allowed the garden to be recognized as one of the top ten most beautiful gardens of the world.
